..........is now the Red Bull Racing team dominating Formula 1. Crazy

Because money.

Red Bull bought Jaguar Racing from Ford for $1
Not even kidding.

and it was Stewart before that.

Wow!
So Red Bull bought the car from Jag for a buck and replaced the Ford-Costworth engine with the Renault engine?
Talk about good luck...

nah, the first year 2005 they ran the Cosworth V10, then they used Ferrari engines for a year when the V8's came in. They switched to Renault in 2007.
even then it wasn't until 2009 that they were
really
competitive. Losing out only to Brawn GP in the constructors championship by 18.5 points.

Ah I see, thanks for the history. I haven't been watching a lot because I like to watch sports live and the times are so screwy for me being in California.
I wonder how good their engine will be next year with the new turbo V6 switch

yeah it requires dedication to watch a whole season. I invariably miss one or two races a year because I sleep through my 3am alarm clock.
I'm not even gonna guess about the turbo's, we'll have no real idea how good the cars are until Melbourne.

Hopefully Red Bull has some issues, at least at first, that gives Ferrari a chance. I want to see some competition. Everyone has known who will win this year for a while now...

yeah.. I'm not getting my hopes up either. Newey hasn't even bothered turning up to the last two races because he's busy working on next years car. Unless Renault have engine issues I think Red Bull will probably have it next year too.

Plus now Red Bull will have even more opportunities to cheat. They can secretly increase their boost levels during the race ;)
![]() 11/27/2013 at 19:40 |

The only thing they really needed were better wings

I don't think there is a boost limit next year, just a fuel usage limit. If they can squeeze extra power while still having enough fuel to get to the end of the race then power to them.

Not enough information in this thread.
It is rare for a new F1 team to pop up from scratch.
Mercedes GP <- Brawn <- Honda <- BAR <- Tyrrell
Lotus <- Renault <- Benetton <- Toleman
Force India <- Spyker <- Midland <- Jordan
Red Bull <- Jaguar <- Stewart
Toro Rosso <- Minardi
Caterham <- Lotus Racing
Marussia <- Virgin Racing
You take a dying team and build on them.
